Principal's Message

I am thrilled to be a part of the Blue Jacket Family and serve such a wonderful school and community! I feel incredibly fortunate to learn alongside, lead, and serve all of you, as principal of Aynor Middle School. I look forward to getting to know and work with you, and the students of AMS. The mission of Aynor Middle School, an evolving community deeply rooted in rural values and beliefs, is to empower each student to be a positive, productive member of society through innovative education that focuses on the individual development of each student. It will happen through our united dedication, teamwork, positive relationships, and collaboration, that students reach their accomplishments. As partners, we will ensure that your children meet the profile of a College and Career Ready graduate. Students will be instilled with world-class knowledge and skills, but also develop life skills, and character to excel in their careers ahead.

One of our new goals this year is focused on literacy as we read, write, and interact in every class, every day. Reading remains one of the best ways for all of us to learn! Each of our students and staff, are striving to read 4,000 pages by the end of the year as we discover the profound impact it will have on our learning.

At Aynor Middle School, students have a nearly endless number of programs that require them to think creatively, reflect, and problem-solve. AMS will offer a new Agriculture course, a first of its’ kind in middle school in the district. Our educational programs include our academics and an offering of various honors and accelerated programs, as well as a fine arts program including band, chorus, orchestra, and art, that continues to receive numerous recognitions and grants. AMS also offers STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) curriculum which includes a medical detectives, design and modeling, and app creation course. Part of the scheduled time during the day includes, Jacket Time, an advisory period to receive additional assistance in their studies and complete digital content. Our extracurriculars include numerous sports, clubs, and activities, including the following: archery, blue notes, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, FCA, fishing book club, football, golf, National Junior Beta Club, soccer, softball, Student Council, track and field, Technology Club, tennis, volleyball, and more!
