
Announcements for the Week of May 14 - May 18
We will be PASS testing make-ups May 14 - 15. Parents, please make sure your children in school if they missed any days last week.
The band concert will be Tuesday, May 15, at the Aynor High School auditorium at 7:00 p.m. The community is invited to attend.
On Thursday, May 17, Coach Jody Jenerette from AHS, would like to meet with any 8th graders who would like to play football next year. Students may go to the auditorium as they leave the gym that morning.
Field day is Friday, May 18.
The end-of-school dance is Friday, May 18, from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Tickets are $10.00 and will be on sale all week.
Taking action to ensure school safety

B-team cheerleading tryouts will be after school in the gym from May 14 - May 17! All girls are invited but must have a physical by May 11 to try out.
The music and drama departments did an awesome job putting on Annie, Jr. All their hard work really paid off!

Congratulations to the 6th grade chorus! They performed in Carowinds over spring break and received a high excellent rating.
Congratulations go out to the AMS Robotics Team! They placed 4th out of 17 teams in the 1st HCS Robotics Competition. This is a wonderful achievement! We are proud of you.
Career Day was very successful! Pictures will be posted later this week.
The school winners of the Soil and Water Essay Contest were:
1st place - Conner Chestnut
2nd place - Gavin Hutson
3rd place - Liam Mahon
Great work! Conner's essay will be sent to the district and entered into the contest for the district winner.
The 7th and 8th grade chorus performed in Williamsburg, VA, March 31 as part of their participation in the Music in the Parks National Music Festival. The group received an excellent rating for their performance of Kyrie by Sonja Poorman and won 1st place in the Middle School Mixed Choir A division. Other schools competing in the festival were from Virginia, South Carolina, Canada, North Carolina, Maryland, and Florida. In addition to participating in the festival, students toured Colonial Williamsburg.

Bravo to the Aynor Middle School concert band for bringing home an "Excellent" rating from the State Band Festival on March 28 in Charleston. This is the highest rating AMS has ever received. Congratulations to all of our 7th and 8th grade band students!
